THE EXPERIMENT
Rather than relying on broad contrasts, this design explores how carefully placed accents can reshape the perception of a monochromatic object. The three sunray-finished counters introduce subtle changes in light and texture, while contrasting rings and brown details establish a clear visual hierarchy across the dial. The aluminium chronograph pusher extends this color language beyond the dial itself, creating a connection between the watch's appearance and its interaction. The result is a chronograph that feels expressive through precision rather than excess.
The lightweight polycarbonate case provides a durable structure with a soft-touch finish that creates an even, matte appearance. Against this restrained surface, the sunray-finished chronograph counters reflect light differently, adding depth while maintaining the clean architecture of the Polychrono collection. An aluminium start/stop pusher introduces a precise colour accent that echoes the dial details, reinforcing the functional elements of the chronograph. Mineral glass with a blue anti-reflective coating preserves clarity across the layered finishes, allowing both texture and colour to remain crisp in changing light.
MATERIAL SCIENCE
POLYCHRONO
Polychrono builds on the Polycarbon platform by introducing function. The lightweight polycarbonate case maintains the same controlled surface and reduced visual weight, while the chronograph layout adds an additional layer of use. Stopwatch functionality measures elapsed time with precision, supported by a Japanese movement, while a day counter tracks the progression of the month. Each element is integrated into the dial without overwhelming it, allowing the watch to remain legible and composed.
